Health Privacy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

California Research Institute respects the privacy of patients, research participants, families, and other visitors who contact our team. This page explains how to communicate safely about health-related matters and where to request the privacy notice that applies to your care or research participation.

Website inquiries and health information

The public website and general email addresses are intended for initial questions and general information. Please do not send medical records, diagnoses, insurance information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive health information through an ordinary website form or unencrypted email.

If information is needed for screening, treatment, records, or research participation, ask a California Research Institute team member for the appropriate secure communication method.

HIPAA and research privacy notices

This page is not a HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, a medical-record authorization, or informed consent for a clinical study. The privacy rules and notices that apply can depend on the service, study sponsor, investigator, healthcare provider, and type of information involved. Request the specific notice or authorization that applies to your situation before sharing protected information.

Your questions and requests

For questions about health information, records, privacy rights, or an existing research relationship, contact privacy@caresinst.org or call (323) 660-6200. To help protect privacy, use minimal identifying information in an initial message. Our team can explain the next appropriate step.

Emergencies and urgent care

This website and its contact channels are not emergency services. For a medical emergency, call 911. For urgent medical advice, contact an appropriate licensed healthcare professional.
